Fiona Blakey graduated from Glasgow School of art in 1985 with a BA(hons) in design. She has been a self employed artist and tutor with ten years of teaching experience.
While her main passion is for drawing
she covers a wide range of disciplines
through her commercial artwork including illustration and graphic design,
commissioned pieces and business graphics.


Drawing Drawing and more Drawing at any level (beginners welcome) with a variety of media. Subject matter includes still life, figure drawing and landscape including perspective, working inside or out.
Working with pastels, watercolour, pen and ink and mixed media, on any of
the above subject matter. First choose your subject then your medium and end
up with a finished piece of work.
Understanding and using colour.

Sketchbook building. This important and often neglected area of the creative process gets a good in depth investigation, leading to recording of visual information from which final pieces may be undertaken. A sketchbook can also be a visual record of a journey and an object to be cherished.
Basic understanding of pattern design and colour for those with craft-based
interests aided by Fiona's extensive library of design/fabric books.

Course fee :
Half day - from £30 -£60 depending on numbers
(max 6)
Full day - £60 - £120 depending on numbers (max 6)
Materials if appropriate : approx. £5 depending on course
Fiona can travel to other locations at a cost to be agreed.

Fiona can provide a high-end reproduction service of artwork finished during the course.
For a small extra fee, the students can then take copies of drawings etc home as well as the originals.
