Based in the heart of Ayrshire, "Heartfelt by Liz" is a unique studio where the imagined becomes the possible.

I have worked as a textile artist for 10 years and my designer clothing and accessories are known in many countries.

I actively promote the use of local fibres from sustainable sources. I dye my own fibres and this gives you and me a wide palette to play with.

As an enthusiastic feltmaker of 10 years, I have experienced new techniques and traditional skills in many countries and feel that gives me a great range of skills to pass onto students through my workshops.

My practical skills of managing a textile business is a useful edge as a tutor in felt art work.

Classes at "Heartfelt studio" run with smaller numbers of students allowing good ratio of tutor to student.

Taster 1-2 hour sessions can accommodate up to 10 people.

The studio is purpose built and has a full range of materials and equipment. It is situated in the rural countryside of Ayrshire just 3/4 hour from Glasgow and 20 mins from Prestwick airport.

One-day workshops generally run on a theme but allows self-development. More intensive 2 day courses with accodomitation
in local B&B run through out the year.

Workshops can be about making a specific item from felt such as a hat or a bag or a pair of slippers. Jewellery or pictures. (These are all achievable in a full-day workshop.)

Experimental days can cover a wide range of techniques
and ideas..It is possible to cater for a wide range of ages and skills in the one group.

I regularly teach feltmaking in primary and secondary schools and the studio is child friendly.

I hold up to date full disclosures and insurances.

Bags are the very extension of a person's personality.

The design of my bags
are very individual;
each one differs in composition and colour.
