Jenny Pearce
England

Basketmaking based on a variety of Celtic and English regional designs.

My courses are held in the beautiful country setting of Canon Frome Court, near the market town of Ledbury. The material we work with is mostly unstripped willow with its variety of textures and colours.

On a weekend course you can expect to make two baskets, one possibly with a handle. Nobody is allowed to leave without a basket!

Unless otherwise stated the courses are suitable for both beginners and those with some experience.
Tea/coffee and a hearty lunch provided.

Geoff Forrest
Scotland

Geoff provides courses in beginners and improvers basket making, living willow structures, rustic furniture, green woodworking, making geodesic domes and introductory Permaculture.

He lives with his partner Jane by the shores of Loch Doon in the Galloway Forest where they grow willow and other useful and edible plants.

Geoff describes himself as a ‘twiddler of sticks’ working with a range of materials from willow through to heftier hardwoods. Baskets to spurtles, chairs to geodesic domes, all connected by the common theme of wood.
Jane also makes hand made cards from pressed flowers and plant material.

Our courses are fairly eclectic and we are always happy to mix and match if someone wants to try a variety of crafts.

One day courses £50 per person, including lunch and materials.

Geoff also accepts commissions.
