PICTURE FRAMING
Framing picture, photographs and mirrors is a creative, absorbing and ultimately very satisfying craft. It requires a careful approach and takes time and practice.
The ideal frame is one that effectively shows off
the picture within it, whether that is a work of art,
a photograph or the reflection in a mirror. It should
not overpower the image or clash with its style.

A picture frame serves a dual purpose : it is designed both to display and protect the painting or photograph within it.
The mount (mat) keeps the artwork away from the glass. Paper expands and contracts with temperature and humidity changes which can result in buckling. The mount allows room for movement in the artwork.
