SCULPTING

Our artists are using a variety of materials to create sculptures.

We can offer working with chickenwire, cloth and recycled materials, working with clay and beads, working with papier mâché and sculpting with textiles.

If you prefer the tactile experience of creating an artwork by touching and shaping the materials, our sculpting courses are what you are looking for.

Sculpting is the art of making three-dimensional shapes and forms. It is the art of taking hold
of the material and changing it into a new and unique shape. This shape, whether realistic or abstract will always represent the expressive moods of its creater.

Sculptors need solid materials to work with, and can choose from the vast variety of woods, clays, metals, textile, stone, metal and plastic that are available.

Each material has special techniques and tools needed
to work it and, as you learn more, you can choose from
the myriad of possibilities to create the effect that you want by way of colour, density, grain and unique characteristics of each material.
